One of two sweet cherries we offer of Luther Burbank origin. 'Abundance' receives its name because it seems never to miss a crop, even in the rainiest springtimes, and is without question the most productive of all our cherries. It would appear that it is at least partially self-fertile, a tremendous attribute that makes this suitable for one-tree backyard orchards. Fruits are also quite late in ripening - in season with 'Lambert' and later than 'Van', of superior eating quality to both - and hold on the trees well when ripe, up to the end of July, if the birds can be kept away.
